Our 2017 SUSI on Women’s Leadership focuses on leadership, empowerment and change in an American context, as fundamental to the improved status of individuals, groups and societies—and as such they warrant special attention in this program. Your challenge will be to apply what you learn—especially in relation to women’s leadership issues—to your own situation in your home country.
This will be important for the development agenda we propose towards the end of the program as a guide to the follow-on activities to be conducted as a result of the SUSI program.
Topics included in the program include:
- Leadership for Personal and Social Change
- Leadership for Women
- Gender, Empowerment, and Social Issues
- American History, Politics, and Culture
- Communication Presentation Skills
- Philanthropy, Volunteerism, and Community Service
- Northwest Cultures
The Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) on Women's Leadership is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). ECA’s mission is "to foster mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries to promote friendly and peaceful relations.
